GR Ljubljana Congress and Convention Centre celebrates its 70th anniversary

On this day, 20 March 1954, Gospodarsko razstavišče was founded.

It was established on the initiative of the Slovenian economy and the Chamber of Commerce as a professional organisation for staging trade fairs and exhibitions. Over the past seven decades, GR Ljubljana Congress and Convention Centre has grown into Slovenia’s leading event venue, hosting a wide range of events, from trade fairs and exhibitions to congresses, corporate events, concerts, prom nights and other special occasions. With its state-of-the-art facilities, equipment for all types of events, and a team committed to service excellence, it has become a preferred venue for organisers and visitors alike.

At GR Ljubljana Congress and Convention Centre, we continue to preserve green areas and care for new planting. To mark this anniversary, the venue will be dressed in green, making it even more attractive for visitors and for the city it calls home. More than 70 new plants will be planted as part of the celebration. The planting initiative involved the entire GR Ljubljana team, with the support of Dobrovita, a company dedicated to the training and employment of people with disabilities.
